Steel Drums have been a part of the Stratton Elementary School since 1992 when the PTC wrote grants and raised fund to buy a set of 7 drums. Additional drums have been purchased through the years and the school now has a total of 15 steel drums. Students in the 6th through 8th grades are given the option of joining the middle school steel band as part of their week. This group of students performs for a wide range of functions, from parades to large conferences. The All-Star Steel Band has played for Governor Angus King’s inauguration.
