February Harvest of the Month – Maine Root Vegetables!

This past month students had the opportunity to try Maine grown carrots as well as watermelon radishes and turnips from Rustic Roots Farm/Root Down Market.

The watermelon radishes in particular created a lot of chatter. These fun root vegetables are white and green on the outside and a vibrant red/pink on the inside. They have a milder flavor compared to other radishes. We are so proud of these kids for trying something new!
