Leading up to the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, students learned about solar eclipses, what they are and why this was so special that it was happening right here in our yards. In Art Class, students in grades 3 & 4 created amazing illustrations of solar eclipses and their coronas. These students also learned about northern lights and created landscape illustrations. Students in grades PK-4 designed “Solar Eclipse Glasses Crowns” which they took home with their solar eclipse glasses. These crowns helped to hold the glasses on our younger students faces while also blocking out the extra light. Students in 5th grade made solar eclipse models which involved a lot of precise measuring and alignment. We are thoroughly enjoying these beautiful works of art on display throughout the hallway!
